This webinar outlines the need for digital continuity between requirements engineering, change management and planning across traditional domains; Hardware, Mechanics, Electronics AND Software.

Increase of complexity in today’s products and systems requires more and more collaboration across disciplines. Not uncommonly today Mechanics and Electronics contain Software and/or Embedded software. The domains are inherently different but the dependencies between each other is increasing with more complex products and the accelerating pace of innovation.

In design and development of the complete product disciplinary teams need to collaborate and exchange information. Traceability and visibility of the data between different domains is a prerequisite for success and efficient engineering. From a planning perspective projects and teams needs to plan across disciplines to align activities. Regulatory compliance comes on top of the product development and spans across domains where commonly a proof of the compliance is achieved through traceability. The best way to achieve this consistency is to link and trace objects from one domain to the other providing a real digital continuity, the digital thread, instead of copying data between the domains and maintaining duplicate data.

Our experts will demonstrate the bi-directional digital continuity, the digital thread, between Polarion and Teamcenter using OSLC technology and explain the benefits of this approach to remove the barriers to innovation.

Webinar agenda

  1. Get a quick intro to Polarion
  2. Understand how to link a Polarion work item with a Teamcenter item revision.
  3. How to achieve full traceability between Polarion and Teamcenter
  4. See a number of relevant use cases demoed
